OWLS Internet Privacy Policy  

1. Introduction 

The School for Older Wiser Lifelong Scholars (commonly known as OWLS) is located at Ohio Living Westminster-Thurber (at 645 Neil Ave. #107, Columbus, OH 43215), but it is a separate entity dedicated to providing for lifelong learners in Central Ohio. It has a board which plans, manages, and conducts the programs of the school. The classes have been in person historically but have also been done virtually when warranted. The board has selected CourseStorm as an internet platform for registration for classes and to help in managing some of our work including class rolls, communications with enrollees, and advertising for future classes. CourseStorm has its own privacy policy. 

2. Information Collected 

When a user enters the website, no personal information is required to review the classes that are planned and open for registration. In order to register online, one needs to set up a username and password which are retained by the system but are not visible to anyone on the OWLS board. The name of the user (and of any additional students being registered), the email address, the home address, telephone number, and payment information are collected. The date and time of the registration are added automatically. The classes in which one enrolls are retained for determining what future classes may be of interest to you. The user information is available to CourseStorm and its payment processors. The credit card information other than the last four digits is not visible to anyone on the OWLS board. CourseStorm collects the full credit card information and technical information such as IP address and internet browsers. 

3. Retention of Information 

Information will be retained for any legally required duration and as long as it is needed for the purposes of the school. 

4. Editing your Information 

You can visit your account and edit your mailing and internet addresses and telephone number at any time that classes are open for registration. You can also send any changes to the registrar of OWLS at any time at the address given in the introductory paragraph. 

5. Sharing with Other Parties 

OWLS does not share your information with other parties other than what is needed to conduct the school.
